Witney Grain Ltd was established in 1991 in Oxfordshire as an independent grain trading company. In 2001 the company changed ownership and relocated to Pewsey in Wiltshire, in 2007 we moved again to larger premises in Devizes. To this day we maintain strong links with our Oxfordshire roots.

Although Witney Grain is a specialist grain trading company we also trade in other associated
agricultural products such as Seed, Fertiliser, Animal Feeds and Aggregates. We pride ourselves in building long term relationships with our farmer suppliers and providing a strong link between them and the global market place whilst offering bespoke grain contracts including a range of option contracts and Grain Pools.

Over the years the company has experienced significant growth and its reach has geographically increased beyond expectations. So much so that in July 2009 we launched W G Bulk Logistics, our dedicated bulk and palletised goods haulage company, which enables us to provide specialist flexible, reliable and efficient haulage services for our growers.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

I joined the grain trade quite by accident. After leaving college I took the opportunity to spend a summer grain sampling and discovered a love for the challenges thrown up by the world of agriculture. My employer recognised my passion and I was fortunate enough to be taken on by the grain division and was able to work with the company for many years, building up invaluable trading experience and earning recognition as a well respected Farm Trader.

In 2001 I decided to move on with the sole aim of eventually running my own Grain Trading business, the opportunity arose and along with a business partner I bought into Witney Grain and we relocated the company from Witney in Oxfordshire to Pewsey, Wiltshire.

In response to fast developing market and business needs, in 2007 we relocated the company again, this time up the road to Devizes. We still maintain very strong ties with the company's roots in Oxfordshire which is very important to me and the company, but since moving, the business has never looked back.

In 2009 I launched WG Bulk Logistics, an independent haulage business set up to service the ever growing volume of grain movements through Witney Grain Ltd as well as servicing a broader base of customers across the UK.

2014 saw my business partner move on to pursue other interests. Never one to sit still, I am always looking out for new ways to improve the way we do business. We are currently developing some very exciting ventures that will be rolled out over the next few years ensuring that Witney Grain remains a leading independent UK grain business enabling us to provide a competitive professional service to all our farm customers.

I enjoy a busy life both at and away from work. I have a small farm in Wiltshire where I love to spend my spare time messing around with my 'hobby' sheep & pigs. I have a 18 year old son, William who is a keen footballer and my partner Jason who is an occasional rugby player which means I am often on a touchline somehwere. I am also involved with the AVH Point to Point in the capacity of Secretary and an active supporter of the Young Farmers Organisation having spent many years as Club Leader.

When I get a chance to relax, I enjoy walking my two dogs, running and watching the occasional live rugby match.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

I joined the team in August 2014, having previously worked for many years at Lloyds Bank where the last 10 years were spent in their agricultural business banking department.

My role at Witney Grain covers a wide variety of administrative aspects including invoicing and accounts, as well as a broad range of customer service aspects.

I like to spend my free time socialising and I enjoy running, walking and holidays in the sun!

TRANSPORT MANAGER

I have worked for WG Bulk Logistics for several years as Transport Manager, prior to that I held the position of Farm Trader at Witney Grain. When the opportunity arose for me to take on the haulage side of the business, I jumped at the chance.

Over the past few years, we have built up a fully integrated logistics service that now stretches beyond Witney Grain and includes a broad base of suppliers and customers across the UK. This continues to be a fantastic challenge for me and is constantly rewarding.

In my spare time, I set up and conduct large-scale firework displays [aka a pyrotechnician] all around the country, as well as the fireworks, my hobbies include football both watching Swindon Town and playing! I also regularly go to the pub and in the summer months, I enjoy going to music festivals.
